Usually I photograph at auto races, but there is another sport I’m passionate about: my local football club Vitesse. Top league in the Netherlands and again going for the championship this upcoming season. Hopefully with better luck than last season.
Jeroen Bleekemolen hasn’t had a weekend off since the Sebring 12 Hours. Since then he has raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Nürburgring and 6 Hours of Watkins Glen. This Sunday he races at Mosport for the IMSA championship.
Although he is a legend in South America, Europeans have no idea who Cacá Bueno is. The five-time Stock Car Brasil champion has racked up three third places so far this season with teammate Sérgio Jimenez, but the duo missed out on the points in Zandvoort last weekend.
Fourteen years after I thoroughly enjoyed his father’s racing, I’m greatly enjoying the racing of Max Verstappen. What this kid is doing in Formula 3 is more impressive than anything I have ever seen before. His Zandvoort Masters championship is only a prelude of what is to come.
